Next Book Off To The Editor!

Yes, it is true. I have been neglecting you, my dear readers. You all have been on the back of my mind the past couple months. I kept thinking I needed to send you a holiday greeting but my deadline to send the first draft of my next book, "It's Not About The Pie~a Fresh Look at Hospitality" to my content editor, was January 1st.

Over the holidays, we had all the wonderful family visiting, amazing food and uplifting church events. I love these things. I hope you had a great Christmas celebrating Jesus' birthday and visiting with those close to you.

2018 was a busy year for me and I think I never expected to really be a published author. "Not Really A Princess" just came out in April. So much has transpired. And now 2019 holds even more with this next book coming out in August. It is already up on Amazon.

I'm amazed!

Thank you all for hanging in there with me and patiently awaiting more blogs. I will once again be posting each week. Some entries will be about compassion, hospitality, mercy and just everyday life.

May your own 2019 journey be filled with many wonderful adventures, growth in your walk with the Lord, and memories for the years to come! Feel free to comment on my blogs or Facebook page. I would love to hear from you! Happy New Year!

What Goes Around, Comes Around

Yesterday was an interesting travel day. I am attending a conference in the lovely Pocano Mountains in Pennsylvania. My husband was asking why they would have it in PA in January. I think he was hoping for warm weather. That is partly because we are from the west and the mountains are big and the passes are more difficult. It was an easy drive on highway the entire way though and the mountains are more like hills. You are gradually climbing. I kept thinking how gorgeous it must be in the fall with all the colorful leaves on the many, many trees.

My husband, Craig was returning from a business trip and was going to meet me at Newark airport. His flight would get in about an hour before mine and then he would be able to come with me. Yay!

I got up at 4am Boise time and went to the airport and had no issues getting on my flight. I benefit from Craig's air miles and am a lifetime 1K so I am able to get on the plane first. I got on the plane, found my seat and put my briefcase in the …

Did I Mention Food?

Writing a book on Hospitality encompasses far more than I ever thought it would. I mean I began with the idea that we should all invite others into our home and make them feel welcome. Like they can come any time and put their feet up and have no worries. I wanted to convey somehow that we can also be helpful to our neighbors and friends especially in a time of need.

So I began writing. I had my chapters planned. HA. I had no idea what this project would entail. I decided that it would be a good idea to add a few recipes and home ideas to help people who struggle with having people over. Maybe it would make them more at ease inviting people. Wow, it just exploded. The more things I added...the more I wanted to add. Now there are over 35 recipes, how to's, testimonies of people telling how others helped them in hard times and quotes and Bible verses encouraging us to show hospitality to those around us.

The photography for such a project has been amazing. I hav…

Moving into Fall

Thankful the summer whirlwind is coming to a close. Summer is my favorite season. I am an outdoor girl and can just sit and take it all in. Fall is my next favorite so right now is a win win.

Author events, writing book two, promoting Not Really A Princess and trying to get speaking engagements has been busy times but I love the extra time spent with grandkids and especially love our family camping trip we do each year. Two of my kids were not able to go but there was still 10 of us to enjoy mountains and lakes, jet skiing, dutch oven cooking and fishing. Well and just sitting around the campfire. Thats the best. Time that we wouldn't normally get together with everyones busy lives.

I hope you too have enjoyed a few extra adventures the past couple months. I can remember when my kids were little and being so excited summer came to spend extra time doing the things we loved most. But then fall would come and I love that too. For me it means opening up my home again to our small gr…
