A Sense of Peace

Our nation seems to be in a state of unrest and although a month ago I felt a sense of uncertainty...even a week ago. Today, I feel an amazing sense of peace. Not because of any outcome but because I trust God to take care of us. He is still on the thrown.

Philippians 3:20-21 tells us, "For our citizenship is in Heaven, for which  also we eagerly await for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself."

WE have a Heavenly King where our name is written in the Lamb's book of life. A place where God and fellow believers dwell. This is a great promise to us.

2020 has been one BIG year and it's not over. I have traveled a little bit the past couple months. It surprises me that some people are SO stressed and fearful and others totally at peace. We can choose. Circumstances can overwhelm or you can choose peace.

In the next chapter of Philippians are two verses I quote in my head often. Verses 8-9 tell us, "Finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things; and the God of peace shall be with you." If our mind is filled with these things then it calms our hearts. There's no room for fear. I am not trying to make light of those who have lost loved ones. I am so very sorry for your loss. I pray you too can find peace.

I am praying for all who read my blog, hoping to give some measure of encouragement in these trying times.
